Literature Under the Stars / Literatura a la Fresca

18 August 2026 · Carrer Trinquet, El Poble Nou de Benitatxell · 25 photographs

This event was held and was a complete success. The organisers Classicas y Modernas and the Benitachell Town Hall organised it beautifully. Events such as these help to foster community in the Marina Alta, helping to make our society better; more united, culturally richer and more diverse. International people have an opportunity to integrate among their Spanish community and they are made to feel most welcome. Awareness is raised about equality, literature and the arts, which again helps to foster a healthier society for everyone to live in. We express great appreciation to Marina and Pepa, Isabel and Lola, the Association de Dones and all the people involved in the organisation of this memorable evening. We look forward to participating next year. Also a special thanks goes to Mihaela Bidea: who was a shining star on this evening. She translated literature works to Spanish and Valencian and confidently and flawlessly presented the readings.

Here are the readings in English as well as Spanish/Valencian, and one in Dutch:

Carry Van Bruggen (1881-1932).pdf
