Prize fund and key features of the competition
The competition offers a total prize fund of €4,000, distributed as follows:

  • A first prize of €2,000

In addition, the rules stipulate that, where works are submitted by authors belonging to women’s associations, one of the runners-up prizes must be awarded to one of these entrants. The jury may also grant special mentions, without financial award, where it considers the quality of other submissions to merit recognition.

Promoting equality and women’s empowerment
The Director General for Equality and of the Women’s Institute, Davinia Bono, highlighted the importance of the competition, noting that it “makes visible women’s commitment to reaffirming equality and empowerment through their narrative works.”

According to Bono, initiatives of this kind enrich the Valencian literary landscape and help to consolidate spaces for expression free from discrimination.
